South Sudan approves establishment of Hybrid Court and other institutions pursuant to the 2018 peace deal
The Government of the Republic of South Sudan has finally approved the establishment of a Hybrid Court as agreed in the 2018 peace deal. The peace deal provides for establishment of this court to try war crimes arising from the civil war that broke out in 2013. The agreement also provides for establishment of other institutions which include the Commission on Truth, Reconciliation and Healing and, the Compensation and Reparation Authority.
